GHEDEX in Muscat & Salalah...A gateway to the students pursuing higher education outside the country.

GHEDEX, the region’s largest specialised academic event, seventh annual Gulf Higher Education Exhibition, was held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Muscat from April 18-20. In Salalah, the exhibition was held from April 23-24 at the Crown Plaza Hotel. The event in Salalah shows great demand from students as well as foreign universities and this is the first edition of its kind.


Gulf Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) is the Sultanate's most important academic event which acquaints Omani and expatriate students with higher education opportunities available in Oman and overseas Colleges and Universities.

This annual event is held in association with the Ministry of Higher Education and supported by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco). There is 50 per cent growth in participation this year with 150 foreign universities.

The exhibition provided a perfect platform for Omani students to explore opportunities abroad as well as at some of the private universities in the country and the Profile of visitors includes Students and Parents, Principals & Teachers,Education Administrators, E-Learning Manager & Corporate Trainers, Culture and Education Departments of Embassies, Representatives of Government Departments, Educational Institutions, Trade & Professional Associations & Organisations, Journalists & Broadcasters, Educational Content Providers, Publishers, Agents and Distributors.

More over, International Education Councils, Education NGOs, Universities, IT Training Providers, Colleges, Vocational Education Institutes, Schools, Professional Educational Institute, Business Schools, Students Finance Services, Executive and Entrepreneurial Education Institutes, E- learning and Distance Learning Specialists, Recruitment Consultants and Visa Information Services have participated in the exhibition.

All the exhibiting colleges and universities hold highest records of academic and scientific achievements and are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Oman.

The British Council services include free educational counselling with self-access computers, full English language placement services as well as information about the UK. The stand at the exhibition helped students wanting information about studying in the UK.

 

UK universities offer students from Oman a wide range of quality programmes and the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification.

Finally, a growing demand for higher education has prompted the organisers of the Gulf Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) to take the event to Salalah in southern Oman.
