TNT
INVESTS IN NATIONAL WORKFORCE |
TNT Express, the world’s leading B2B
express delivery company, is
investing in the country’s national
workforce by working closely with
Dubai’s Higher Colleges of
Technology and providing work
experience, internships and training
for locals.
“Having seen giant strides in the
work culture during the last five
years, we believe that through
Emirates National Development
Programme (ENDP) and Tanmia, the UAE
is moving towards an effective
strategy for the development of its
national workforce,” said Bryan
Moulds, Country General Manager, TNT
UAE.
The company has followed the UAE’s
initiative and has designated some
of its jobs as national only
positions. These jobs include
receptionists, accounts assistants,
customs clearance agents and human
resources personnel.
“We also offer part time positions
for those who have family or study
obligations,” added Moulds.
TNT’s work environment in the Gulf
is made up of 17 nationalities
working in 18 locations across the
region.
The company’s key Dubai locations
are in Rashidiya, Dubai Cargo
Village, Business Avenue Building
and Jebel Ali Free Zone. Across the
UAE, TNT also has offices in Sharjah,
Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Al Ain and
Abu Dhabi.
“We have regular team meetings to
ensure that everyone’s voice is
heard. We also conduct regular
training and development programmes
for specific departments or
individuals who require it,”
explained Moulds.
“TNT also encourages promotions
within the company and advertise all
our vacancies internally first and
produce a quarterly staff newsletter
which informs staff on growth of the
business.”
TNT’s remuneration package for
nationals include basic salary, car
allowance, pay in lieu of an annual
air ticket, private medical
insurance, national pension scheme
and company sponsored job relevant
training.
